Job Description
The role of an Apprentice Engineering Manufacturing Technician is a varied and challenging role, you will be exposed to all aspects of the machining process (CNC, Turning, Milling, Drilling). Continuous advancements in technology mean you will be required to develop new skills and integrate new equipment on site as and when appropriate. The role will include, performing core engineering activities, developing meta-skills, environmental good practice, Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings, Machining engineering assets, including CNC turning, CNC milling, manual machining, drilling. Measuring using various tools, Checking quality of finished components.
What skills will I learn?
Working Safely at all times. Machining various materials to manufacture finished products. Operating various machinery; Lathes, Milling Machines, Drilling Machines Reading and Interpreting Information from Engineering Drawings. Measuring and checking components for quality
What qualifications or qualities are required?
Essential qualifications: Minimum of x3 Passes in National Qualifications – level 5 (Maths, English, plus 1 STEM subject) Skills/ Knowledge: • Team working. • IT Skills. • Excellent communication skills. • Methodical and attention to detail. • Organisational and prioritisation skills. • Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines and / or agreed outputs.
